I got this fly spray recipe from our farrier, seems to work as well as anything you buy, and much cheaper and not a lot of nasty chemicals. I wanted to share with folks at the meeting on Sat. but thought we might want to list it on the website too.
1 part Apple Cider Vinegar (must be this type) 3 parts water 1 squirt Dawn dishwashing liquid (I used Joy with natural Citrus and it works fine) This is pretty easy to mix especially if you've got a spray bottle with measurements on the side. I mixed some up after the farrier left Tuesday night and have used it the last couple of days and it seems to work ok (as well as most anything else and a lot cheaper!!) Our farrier is John Vanada, I don't know where he got this recipe at, but he passes it along to customers and he keeps a jug on his truck.
